However, glamor has become an integral part of anything and everything and news channels are no exception. With more and more news channels popping up, it has become very important for the news channels to devise new ways to attract the audience and the most obvious way is to have some attractive female news readers.

TV9 has been the front in this aspect with a set of beautiful ladies who also posses good vocal abilities as its news readers. Now TV9 has gone a step ahead and recruited a person from the Bengali film industry as a news reader. Anchor Pratyusha who can be seen in most of the TV programs belongs to a family related to Bengali Cinema. She is the sister of popular Bengali actress Sayali Bhagat.

So, in the near future, probably we can see some of the Tollywood beauties as news readers or program anchors.

Director Sreenu Vaitla’s latest release King starring Nagarjuna has created a minor controversy in the film industry. In this film, comedy actor played the role of a Music Director named Jayasuriya who is portrayed to have reached a good position by ‘copying’ the tunes of other music directors. This role was also shown tirading young girls participating in a singing competition.

Some websites, in their reviews, mentioned that the character Jayasuriya in this movie, resemble the music director Chakri. There were many comments in the past that, Chakri lifts tunes of other music directors. Also, the costumes worn by the role Jayasuriya and his body language closely resembled Chakri. This has obviously caused some pain to Chakri, who did not express it openly.

However, Sreenu Vaitla realized that Chakri was disappointed by this role and decided to clarify that he had no intentions of imitating Chakri with this role in the film. He said that, the role Jayasuriya is not at all related to Chakri and that the role was not created to target Chakri. He went on saying that Chakri is his good friend and that he felt very sad when he saw the websites comparing Jayasuriya role to Chakri. “In fact, the character was designed by me, but one of my assistant writers and neither he nor myself have any intention of insulting Chakri”, said Sreenu Vaitla.

Actor Rajasekhar hardly had any hit films to his credit in the past ten years, save ‘Evadaithe Naakenti’. He sincerely believes that the reason for his repeated failures lies in the script writers and directors of his previous films. So he started a movie named ‘Satyameva Jayathe’ in which he donned the role of a strict police officer. He prepared the script and screenplay for this film himself and his wife Jeevitha is directing this venture. However, this couple is careful enough not to invest their own money and thus started this film under different producers.

Given the ’success spree’ of Rajasekhar, the production house withdrew from the project abruptly and this Rajasekhar finished the production with the help of certain financiers. The movie is slated to release on the 14th of January. However, the financiers issued an ultimatum to clear all the debts before Jan 9th if the film is to be released on Jan 14th. The financiers are expecting this film to fail at the box office and this not willing to wait till the movie releases and collects money. So, now Rajasekhar is in search of some financial help to clear his debts and release the film.

‘Chintakayala Ravi’ starring Venkatesh was an unexpected disaster in 2008. As the movie was expected to do brisk business, there were many distributors who invested a lot in the movie and finally ended up in huge loses. The Producer Nallamalapu Srinivas also called Bujji apologized to the distributors for the loses they incurred.

Now, Bujji has produced the movie, ‘Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam’ to be released in the first week of January. This time, Bujji has decided to compensate for the distributors who lost their money with Chintakayala Ravi and said that he would give preference to the same distributors if they are interested. He is also willing to be flexible in the prices. A good gesture to the distributors from a producer.

He also declared that, he would personally release all his future projects and this bear all the consequences of his films.

A few years back the highest allowed price in any theater in the state was Rs. 35/-

This price was later increased to sixty for the first two weeks, after which the price should be bought back to thirty five. This change was reasonable, as people who cannot afford the higher price can wait for two weeks and then watch the movie. Now, the government has decided to lift the restriction of getting back to a lower price, which means that the highest price ticket in the state is now sixty rupees, which is almost double the current price.

This move deters all the movie lovers who cannot afford the high price. The reasons behind the approval of this hike are obvious, with the government trying to garner some support from the film fraternity in the next general elections. The producers should realize that, hiking prices might finally result in higher losses as the number of people who come to the theaters will drop significantly.

This move might also boost the piracy industry as people start looking for cheaper forms of entertainment. It is high time that the government reconsider its decision!

He believes that the audience of Tollywood do not have ‘proper’ taste to appreciate his films and thus he wanted to try his hand in the Bollywood. Teja! You did not appeal to a particular section of people and how do you expect to entertain the entire country. Better stay away from Bollywood and save the industry from your disasters.

Srikanth Addala shot to fame in the industry with his recent teenage love story ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’. Yesterday, Mumaith was asked about this affair and she vehemently denied the entire issue as a rumor created by the print media. She went on accusing the media for creating such rumors.

It is interesting to note that the sources of this rumor, chose a muslim guy for this muslim girl. Even rumors have some logic!

Its been a rumor since the IPL time that the Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is dating Talugu and Tamil actress Laxmi Rai. As a continuation, Tamil media has published that the actress met Dhoni in his hotel room on the last day of the test match between India and England held at Chennai, earlier this month. Of course, like any other actress, Laxmi Rai vehemently denied the news as a simple rumor.

She said that these rumors popped out at the time of IPL and had died down. Now that Dhoni has come back to Chennai, these rumors resurfaced and will die in a few days, said Laxmi. She said she ceased giving any importance to rumors of this kind, which pop up often.

However, she did not deny that she is a ‘good friend’ of MS Dhoni. She said she liked Dhoni as a co-worker during IPL and as a cricketer and reiterated that their relation ended there.
